Understanding BPH
If you suffer from the above symptoms, you are not alone. 40% of men in their 50’s, 70% of men in their 60’s and 80-90% of men in their 70’s and beyond suffer from BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia), a condition that is also known as an enlarged prostate.1

The prostate is a gland that surrounds the urethra, the tube that drains urine from the body. It is a male reproductive gland that produces fluid for semen. BPH is a non-cancerous (benign) growth of the prostate that occurs as men age for reasons that are not fully understood. The enlarged prostate presses on and blocks the urethra, causing bothersome urinary symptoms.
For over one-third of men with BPH, their symptoms disrupt their lifestyle and bother them enough that they need treatment.
