UroLift® System

The UroLift® system is a minimally invasive device designed to lift or hold enlarged prostate tissue out of the way so it no longer blocks the urethra.  There is no cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue.  The UroLift system is designed to relieve urinary symptoms due to BPH.

The UroLift system is being evaluated in an FDA-approved clinical research study called the L.I.F.T. Research Study to support a premarketing application to FDA.  The UroLift system is not available for sale in the U.S.

The procedure is performed by an urologist and may be performed under local or general anesthesia.  It may be performed at the doctor's office or in the hospital.  The goal of the UroLift system is to relieve symptoms so you can get back to your life and resume your daily activities.

How It Works:

Step 1:  The UroLift delivery device is placed through the obstructed urethra to access the enlarged prostate.

Step 2:
Small UroLift implants are permanently placed in an attempt to lift or hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way and increase the opening of the urethra.  Each permanent implant is delivered through a small needle (not shown) that comes out of a UroLift delivery device and into the prostate.

Step 3:
The UroLift delivery device is removed.
